A View of the War, Looking for Beauty in Chaos.

Finally got to set down with Larry and we picked the images for the show, also stumbled across the artist's statement, which is cool.
Got the last of the prints back yesterday, there's some awesome stuff.
Of course nothing is ever easy, had to reschedule the show from the 2nd to the 9th of May.
But I'm excited.

Hmmm

Haven't been very good about keeping up with events, got lots of good feedback from my show but no buys (yet).  Working on the Iraq show for Larry Pickering's trailer show next month, well, at least I NEED to be working on that.

Photo show opening rescheduled

Since the opening was shot down by the weather last night we are rescheduling it for next Mon, 2 Feb. Hopefully I can reach everyone, what with all my contacts being lost from my phone.

Yep, weather was too much

I don't blame anyone for not coming last night, it was the worst driving surface I've seen in years, even my sure-footed Dodge was having trouble.  It looks like we will reschedule for next Monday.
deShan suggested another night so we'll see.

Oh great, the weather (and other irritants)

The TV is saying we're going to get an ice storm tomorrow, super. I'll be surprised if anyone comes to the opening now.
I also noticed two of my color sky series have scratches so I'm going to have to replace them. I've already got an extra purple (Bruised Sky) but the I'm having a hard time getting the blue one (Somber Sky). I had hell trying to upload it to Epperson's web site, so I went by there, couldn't remember the size so I went home to get the spare but when I got back (at 1734) I saw they closed at 1700!  AARGH! I finally got the photos uploaded, hopefully they get them done (then again it may not matter with the weather).

Getting back at it.

I'm following deShan's lead and getting into this blog thing to promote my work.  She's been a tremendous influence on me in so many ways. I started a blog on MySpace while I was in Iraq, partly for myself and partly for friends and family at home. That was pretty easy because there was always something new and interesting about which to talk.  This may prove more challenging. I hope I can keep this interesting.

The main thing right now is getting my work and my name back out in circulation.  I taking some of the lessons I learned from my show at Gallileo's and some from de  and I'm doing more to promote my new show.  Which I should probably mention at this point, is at the Will Rogers Theater at NW 43rd and Western. The opening is Mon Jan 26 from 5-7.  I've gotten some very positive feedback, I can't wait to hear from some of the other artists here in town when they see it.
